From Here to There

This will be the year that I do all the things I want to do. No pressure there, right? I mean if I haven’t done them yet after all these years, what makes me think I’ll get them done this year?  Seriously, I do know better than to make that resolution. There are so many things that I want to do, that it would take the rest of my life to get them done. I will, however, try to pick a few to accomplish this year – it’s a matter of deciding which ones I want to do first!

Travel

I will be doing at least some traveling again this year, I have trips planned to South Carolina (Charleston area) and Sedona this spring. I’m impressed with the self-control I’ve exhibited thus far in not planning any trips for later in the year. I’m thinking I may need to take fewer trips this year in order to accomplish a few other things on the bucket list.

Photography

I must start to carry my camera with me wherever I go.  I can’t begin the tell you how many lost opportunities there have been to get that perfect shot… if only I had my camera with me.  I’ll just have to quash that feeling that, to everyone else, I just look like a geek with a camera around my neck who is pretending to be a photographer.  Get over it.  I am one.

Career

SharePoint has been a major focus of my career over the past few years.  For those who don’t know what SharePoint is, it’s a fantastic “tool” that companies can use to create a collaborative environment both within their organization and with others they work with in the rest of the world.  I love working with this tool, and using it to come up with solutions to every day business issues.  This is the year that I take my career in SharePoint to the next level.  This is the year I venture into the scary world of public speaking.  This is the year I become a SharePoint speaker.

My house has WAY too much “stuff” in it. The excuse that my two 19-year old sons still live with me is starting to grow old.  I don’t even believe it anymore.   I am “collecting” more stuff than I could ever use in a lifetime, and I’ve seriously considered getting some outside help.  I have some major housecleaning and de-cluttering to do this year.   Wish me luck!
